Models Own - Luis Lemon swatches

Hi! Here are my swatches of Luis Lemon, anyone understand that name? I was being lazy so only did a quick patchy white coat and I paid the price once I started painting the neon over it, I had to do 5 coats to cover the bold patches!! However over the opaque white bits two coats was perfect so this is no reflection on the polish, simply my idleness. Ha.

Look at it shining in the background! It's so bright, perfect highlighter pen yellow, I recommend it :) it was even sweeter as I didn't have to pay real money, I cashed out my boots points...worth it! I nearly picked up Greenberry from Barry M but I resisted as I thought it was too similar to Essie's Turquoise and Caicos but I no longer think that so I might go pick it up ;). Nothing worse than buyers regret.

I'm planning on doing some summery nail art tonight, might do a tutorial as well if anyone likes them of course :).

Short post again but there's not much to say about a polish that speaks for itself ;). Seeyou soooooon!

Illamasqua Poke swatches

Hey,
I'm having a short break from neon, very short as whilst I'm typing this I have a neon on :P so whenever I want a quick mani, I always turn to Illamasqua as I know that they will deliver in terms of quality and fast drying-ness (I sound like a sales rep :p) so I picked Poke, I thought it would have been just a normal purple but the glitter/shimmer brings it to life! The sparkle is blue and so it gives it an electric feel? It might be the purple sister of the lovely radium ;). I used two coats to perfection and a further one to banish the ridges...

My swatches are a bit off actual colour, it is purple after all, but it is a Cadbury purple, a tad deeper than what I've shown. It's just a gorgeous colour, makes me want chocolate...I want chocolate all the time though...hehe. It's that nice that my friend who hates purple :O said she liked it ;).

I'm leaving my flat at uni today and going home for summer, that means I'll be clearing out a lot of my stuff including polish, unfortunately I won't be able to ship it to America but Europe is okay so I might do a small blog sale if anyone would be interested? If not they'll go on my carboot sale stall :).

I'll be back soon with a Models Own neon, ooh exciting ;)

Flossgloss Perf with barfing Unicorns

Holla,
For the past couple of days I've been wearing Flossgloss Perf which is a baby pink crème, I like many others thought it would be a pink tinged with lavender but alas nay it is just a straight up pink, which made me sad...I wanted lavender pink :(. Although I didn't like this colour, I just don't get along with pink, no matter how hard I try, everyone at uni and even the boyf liked this colour.

The nail art came as a response to this colour, I felt it was too girly so I thought "hmmmm
what's totally girly? Unicorns! Duh." I didn't want to do girly unicorns though, these are more ironic? Unicorn butt, multi-coloured poo, neighing a rainbow.
Can you see those lips sticking out on my pinky? They join up to my ring ;) to make the face paha, on my right hand the middle finger is the face that horses do when they lift their lips above their teeth :P hahahahaha it's a bit grotesque which is why I like it ;) the speech bubble says Barf, not bad handwriting to say I did it left handed, all that practicing must have paid off haha.

It's a shame I didn't get on with Perf as I'm sure to most people it would be just that; perf...perfection ;). I'm not sure what I'm doing next on my nails. I am thinking of making business cards though, everytime I go out I get people asking about my nails so I thought I could give them a card with my blog on it ;) hehehe

Con Limon got pimped out

Hey! I can't believe it...second year is over :( the final critique went well it just lasted for 6 hours :O didn't get out of the room at uni till 8pm, no food, no water, no seats hahahah it was good though :P. It's sad though, we are going out on Friday for two birthdays and to celebrate our end of year so I am looking forward to that, I've got to get something to wear though and maybe a bag that I can diy ;). (That's totally my new addiction, I'm currently diying on some jeans, I might show you when they're done).

Anywhoooom, so Con Limon is pretty awesome on it's own so I thought I'd go a bit crazy again and just bling it out. It feels good to have such garish nails ;) been getting a lot of comments on these from guys hahaha 'they're awesome' and 'they're a bit subtle' yeaaaaah. I added the snake and starfish charms from Hex nail Jewelry :)

Also rocking 'Louboutin' nails but with Perf underneath ;)

Like I said I am loving these, I wish I had more places to go and be all in people's faces, being cool but I'm not :( haha! I'll make do with displaying them when I go into town, you know, pushing your money across the till with your nails and typing your pin number in slowly so they might catch a glance ;). Ahh the life of a nail freak!

I didn't do my thumbs as when I did these I was busy typing my workbook so I didn't want them to catch on the keys as I was going to do some chain dangling action, I might add chains tomorrow :).
I'm not sure if I'll be able to get any of these studs/gems off though...I kind of used A LOT of seche vite to make sure they stayed on but there's no sign that they are ever coming off :P

I just wanted to give some love to the blog galorious, she has really neat swatches and nail art and is British (yeaaah boi) and is a new blog I have recently enjoyed :) she seems really sweet too, which is always a good thing :D so go show her some love!

Thanks for the blog suggestions, I checked them all out, I don't mind people leaving their blog addresses in the comments but I always go on everyone who comments profiles anyway so you don't have to :)

Flossgloss - Con Limon bossin' swatches

Hey :) hope everyone's well?

So my Flossgloss order arrived this week, yay! I was so excited...like embarrassingly so...ha! But can you blame me really??
Yeah, I thought not.
PERF, Neon Nacho and Con Limon and stickers yeahhhh. It was love at first sight with all three, so much gorgeous in one place :D. I had to use Con Limon first, just look at it, it's amazing! Ha.

I used 3/4 coats over white to make sure that it was opaque and neon, the formula was a tad streaky but nothing major, it dried nice and quick, it dries kinda shiny too which is cool. I'm going to stop talking now, just look at the photos

                                                                          Put yo guns up

In actual love with my nails right now! Sooooo florescent, it's the perfect mix of green and yellow to make this molten, hawwwt colour. Yeah my nails are boss. Yeah I just said that.

I am currently pimping these nails out which you'll see some time soon ;) so what do you think of flossgloss?

China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise swatches and Hex Nail Jewelry

Hi, I'm back haha forever now :)

Whilst I'm waiting for my Flossgloss order to arrive (c'mon c'mooooooooon) I continued my neon phase with Turned up Turquoise, I wasn't sure initially whether it was a neon or not as it didn't say it was but it looked pretty bright so I googled it ;) turns out it is but I couldn't be bothered to put white on so I just went straight into the turquoise goodness.

If you follow me on instagram you'd have seen that I got my order from Hex nail jewelry a couple of weeks ago, they make super cute, re-useable, gold plated nail charms for $1.75 each which is good value seeing as you can keep reusing them until the gold wears off. I'll be placing another order with them again soon! You'll be seeing more charms in the next couple of posts :). I added their large bow charms to my middle fingers.

I had to colour adjust the photos as the colour was hard to capture, it's a lot brighter and more blue then these photos show, but the lovely velvety texture and glow is the same. I used four coats but only to fill my ridges but it didn't work :P.

Gorgeous colour, right? Love the charms too, so cute and sturdy lol!

I'm getting back into reading other people's blogs slowly but surely! I'm looking for new beauty blogs esp. British and nail art blogs to follow so if you know of any hit me up :)

Seeyou in a couple :)

Hattie Stewart inspired nails

I'm back! Hopefully :P I have been super busy and weighed down with uni work; making a website, printing portfolio, doing a boring blog (not this one heheheh) a research review and two photographic projects! Gah so I hope you'll still have me! ;). I have so little time that I literally painted my nails once since my last post!! I still haven't filed my nails since :0 and I still have this nail art on bearing in mind I did it 8 days ago! Wow I have been busy! Yeah next week is my last week of second year :( can't believe it's come round so fast! Okay so many exclamation marks, need to slow down bahahahaha.

Onto the nails...I recently discovered, via Company magazine, an amazing British illustrator Hattie Stewart, you need to check out her website www.hattiestewart.com :) I like to think of some of her work as slightly feminist which is NOT a bad thing!! Her illustrations are cute and creepy and just cooooool. So I took a look at most of her work and chose some bits to copy onto my nails but in neon, I'm on a total neon kick at the moment! Hah.
They took a couple of hours to do, I spread them out over two nights as I had other stuff to do, so I was rocking one hand done and the other was just white :P.

You can see the neon in the second photo, the middle and ring fingers are based off a drawing she posted on instagram @hattiestewart :) it's an orange hahahaa. I was happy to find that I could still use my left hand to draw/paint reasonably well.
The orange - China Glaze Orange Knockout
The Green - China Glaze I'm with the Lifeguard (Thanks Lizzy! Still loving it as much as when you sent it me <3)
The Pink - Sparitual Dreamsicle

I got two more China Glaze's the other day from Sally Salon Services when I went home to shoot last weekend, Flying Dragon and Turned up Turquoise hehehehhehehe also I am trying very hard to resist the new Chanel's and Dior's Birds of Paradise! Argh

You know the other day I said I wanted some flossgloss? Weeeeeell I might have caved and bought 3 despite the $25 shipping! They're worth it (I hope) I can't wait for them to get here, I'll leave you in suspense as to which colours I got...

Seeyou soooooon
