Cray cray Leopard print Rainbow gradient

Sorry Lizzy it's not Zuza just yet :P

I saw a design on Wahnails instagram of these rainbow leopard print nails and I thought they were so awesome so I had to recreate, mine are a bit different and very bright! I started with a white base to make all the colours pop and to save time ;) so I used Barry M Matte white, which is an okay white, I only used two coats as I didn't need full coverage. Here are all the polishes I used
Barry M Matte White, Kiko 358 Peach Rose, Dior Riviera, Barry M Cyan Blue, Kiko 355 Canary Yellow and China Glaze I'm with the Lifeguard
Kind of a teaser for what's to come in like 5 seconds hahahhaha
I used the on the sponge method, I love how the colours blended together to make new colours :) I am in LOVE with Lifeguard, it's so neon hahaha. In real life this is very bright and vibrant. Next is the leopard print on top of this cray cray gradient.
Left hand in natural light

Right hand in natural light

I love the way the gradient on my right hand turned out the best, it's so pretty! I wish you could see how bright this is and how fun it looks. All we need now is sunnnnnnnnnn stupid England, I swear we are never going to get summer here :(. I freehanded the leopard print using my new and improved Wah nail art pen in black, I have a much better experience with that pen now that it's changed haha.
The gradient looks so much nicer in real life not as sludgy as it looks on the first picture. I'm happy happy happy with this and my photos too. I think I'll start doing photos of both my hands when I do nail art from now on so you can see that I do it on both nails ;).

You like how I've decided to get all fancy with my photos? I want my blog to look good and I should put my degree to use ;). I got my results and feedback through the post today and I'm very pleased with myself, I got a 2.1= overall which is good to say I never studied photography in college, it goes to show that you can do anything you want! I love this course so much, I can't wait to start my second year in september!! Wooooo.

Cute rainy nail art

For this mani I used a drugstore polish! Long time no see, I felt I should show a nice affordable polish after all the Dior. I chose Rimmel Pro Aqua Cool which is a soft blue, verging on periwinkle I think, it's nice and mellow anyway.
Ignore my horrid cuticles, especially my index finger

I've actually used quite a bit of this polish, there's a visible usage line :O. This applies nicely as the formula is good, and the brush is tapered which makes application easy and quick. The only problem I'm having is my Seche Vite is getting really low which is making it gloopy and bubbling all over the place also when it dries it is going a bit white and it sticks up which makes it impossible to resist piggling the polish off :( I'm going to try a different quick drying topcoat as £10 is a bit steep!
Anyway the reason for my mani is my mother, she keeps saying to me "do umbrellas it'd be so cute" and I finally agreed and they are pretty darn cute :) I decided to add little boats into the mix too cos they're too cute! (Boats are from The illustrated nail...again)

I love how it turned out, it was fairly tricky to colour inside the black lines with the white nail art pen but I managed it but I think that those little bits where I missed add to the design, it's quite cute right? Ha the best part is the fact that it was sunny today! After days of rain when I finally do the umbrellas, one isn't needed! I wish I had my other black nail art pen though as this one is running out so I had to squeeze so hard to get a thin line out and it made it really hard to do my other hand as squeezing leads to unsteadiness and an achey thumb :(.
I am happy with this, it's cuuuuute :).

My nail mail came yesterday! I couldn't believe it only a week from the US is good but Lizzy's package still hasn't got to her yet :( boo. My package was full of awesomeness which I will show you tomorrow :D.

One last thing....I won Chanel Graphite off ebay!!! WOoo I'm very excited, I didn't like it at first but now I see it's beauty, can't wait for that to get here :D.

Nail Fail! Mary Katrantzou inspired floral print

Yep you read that right, my first public nail fail, obviously I've had them in the past but I've just kept them to myself and swiftly removed them but I felt I should be brave and show you all. After all I did promise nail art today.

This was meant to be my interpretation of Mary Katrantzou's spring 2012 floral print suits and dresses but it went wrong. This took me hours to do just the one hand and so I was really disappointed when it didn't look as good as I'd hoped. I created the flowers with a small dotting tool and the stems too. I first did all the flowers in white to ensure  all the colours showed up and then I did the green stems. Then I went over the white with the colours and then I did the darker colours over that. Finished with Seche Vite and decided that I really didn't like it.

Can you see why I don't like it? They don't look like flowers and there's too much black, there should be more colour and the flowers should be more floral shaped and more green.
So there you have it my first nail fail (on this blog at least) what do you think?

Lastly here are my naked nails so beware!!
So I cheated a bit, but they are too stained to be seen without light coverage ;) the first picture is from earlier this year and the bottom is today! My nails look so creepy without polish on, they look on the wrong side of long! Especially my little finger nail. Would you believe I've never broke a nail in my whole life! Lol

Hope you enjoyed.

The illustrated nail inspired lace nail art

Mouthful or what :P
I LOVE Sophie Harris-Greenslade aka The Illustrated Nail, she does some cray nail art, she's one of the best in the biz and I took the time earlier to properly look through her work and decide what I thought I could achieve. I orignally wanted to do tattoo style writing on my nails but then I found her lace designs and I loved them so cute. I used her designs and then made one of my own using hers as a template as I don't like to just copy, you have to add something that's your own. But my point is she's amazing!

I love the thumb the most, it's so cute like a little doily :P my ring finger didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, I didn't do the flowers large enough but oh well it's still nice :) I like this look but I prefer  Sophie's version :). This was really quick to do on top of Essie so that's always nice and it doesn't really matter if you go a bit wrong as it isn't that noticeable :P.
I'm still away but I'll be back soon and I know exactly what is going on my nails ;) hehehe
Seeyou later!

Summer leopard print gradient

Wow 99 followers! Yay hello everyone :)
I was going to post this last night after my sister's fashion show (which was really good, I'm very proud) but mum wanted me to do her olympic nails as I won't be able to do them tonight and she is seeing the torch on thursday hence why she wanted the nails. I might put a picture up but I'm not sure cos I'm not happy with them, they're not very good :(.
Anyway I did this design after I did it o a set of falsies and loved it :P I started with Barry M Matte White, one coat! then I sponged Models Own Coral Reef and Kiko 358 and Matte White, it only took two sponged coats as I used the white as a base, clean up was horrible though as I didn't put vaseline around my cuticles and fingers so the red got everywhere and I couldn't get it all off without removing too much of the sponging so excuse the mess!
Yeah I don't like this gradient by itself but it only stayed like that for a few minutes whilst it dried. Onto the leopard print!

But this, I love! It looks like a iced summery drink :D again I'm just willing summer to arrive! This is a very easy and quick thing to do but it looks impressive, which is my kind of thing ;). I don't really have much else to say about it other than I neeeeed a new black nail art pen, gah you don't know how hard I had to squeeze to get a thin stream! My thumbs were killing after this haha.

I'll be doing my BFFFFFFF's nails tonight, she's the reason I created my pandas, so can you guess what she wants ;)

Have a good day everyone :)

News news newssss

Sorry for being MIA for a couple of days I've been busy doing this

Aka painting false nails to sell on etsy! Pow! It took a while to get into the rhythm of painting then designing but I got into the swing of it eventually. It was quite stressful as one of my pens kept blobbing etc etc but I got there in the end. Wooo I'm really pleased with them all now, I think the bananas are my favourites and the pink and white paisley are so cute! It doesn't look like these would take a long time but they did :P.
I haven't put them up yet as I'm doing some more today and my mum wanted to take them into work to show everyone, she says they won't believe that I've done them :P.

This has stopped me doing my own nails as there's no point, look what these two days have done to my nails!
My other hand is worse I've got black all over my nails and yellow haha so yeah it's a messy business, when I do it at least ;).

Hopefully I will post tomorrow with a swatch/nail art as MY CAMERA IS COMING BACK!!!! I'm so happy :D it was fixed yesterday so they are sending it out today from Kent so it shall be here on friday yayayayayay! I've missed it so much lol.
I bought Dior Gold Nugget from ebay for £3! But it didn't even have the silver lid or the box :( and I won a mysterious Paul and Joe polish that I think is Venus from 2011 L'horizon Bleu collection but I'm not sure, either way it's blue and sparkly so it's all good :D.

Also I have a Facebook page that is lonely that needs some love! I'd love it if you could like it, it's not linked to my blog but it's about my nail art etc it's here lol. I have instagram too, I've had that for ages though, it has my fashiony photography on at the start and nail stuff now that you can check out if you want, my username is abbbzidey if you have instagram let me know in the comments!

Final thing: How much do you think I should sell the nails for? How much would you be willing to pay?

Have a good day everyone!

Gosh 606 Early Green swatches & a surprise!

Hey everyone (new followers yay!)
Today I bought a polish that I've been needing for ages; lime green :D hehee so I got it from Gosh in superdrugfor £4.99 which is totally stingy seen as you only get 8ml! Anyway it is just the colour I was looking for, it's nice and bright but not neon but still in your face ;). From the bottle it looks quite subdued but don't be fooled.
Surprise!!
I finally did it. I finally had enough length to reshape my squovals into ovals! Eventually I want them to be skinnier almost pointed but not like scary stilettos but that won't happen until they grow some more (which should be in a couple of days ;)) I was scared to do it but I was really bored of my nails plus this way I can have them longer than I used to without them looking creepy long. LOL. I really like them now, at first I thought I'd made a mistake but not anymore, they look more elegant too :).
Having them this shape also means I could do this design that I've wanted to do for ages but it wouldn't suit squovals and I didn't have a lime green :P.

These are all taken in natural lighting.....obviously :P as it was nice outside for about 5 minutes ha. I freehanded the pink tips using the pink nails supreme pen, then I added the white with Barry M Matte White and did the leopard splodges. When I put seche vite on it somehow dragged the pink back onto the bottom of my nails? I saw this design in a wah nails advert and I knew I would have to recreate it one day! I love it, so fun and summery.

What do you think to my new nail shape?

Floral nail art

Hey, so yesterday I was going to post swatches of Dior Riviera but looking back over the photos, I realised I couldn't post them as Riviera looks nothing like what my pictures were showing :( so I'm showing you the nail art I did over it instead. I'll post Riviera once I get my camera back!
I have this top and it's really nice and summery so I thought it would make perfect nails....it did!

Right hand - sorry about the background...didn't have time to grab my backdrop
Left hand - natural light
I rather like it, they feel quite oriental for some reason, I like it because it's not your usual roses/daisies not that there's anything wrong with those but I felt like having something different :). In reality the base colour is a strong orange coral not pinky!
I created the flowers with a medium and smallest dotting tools I dotted a white circle then at the bottom of the circle I drew a curved line to make a bell shape. Then I added the dark grey and a lighter grey to act as shading. I used a dark green nail art pen to draw the stems, then I used Essie Navigate Her with the smallest dotting tool and went above the dark green lines to create light and shadow :P. That was the most time consuming point but after that it went really quickly. My left hand wasn't even shaking when I did my right hand!!
So that inspired me to practise writing with my left hand everyday until I become fully ambidextrous hahahah! Incase my right hand ever gets injured of course ;).

There you have it! I hope everyone has a good weekend :) my sister is running 3 miles for cancer research on sunday so that's where I'll be supporting her, she's doing it with college otherwise I would have joined her!

Summer ombre skittles

Hi, the camera is still broke but hopefully I'm getting a quote of how much it will be to fix it *fingers crossed* it's not too much. I realised I have some pictures that I never put up, I did these nails a couple of weeks ago.

I had this vision for them but they didn't quite go according to plan as I rushed it so the lines are messy :( but here it is
No closeup for these ;) they look better from a distance

I used 15 polishes for this!
Like my carpet? LOL
1-9 = top row, 10-15 = bottom row
1. Models Own - Lilac Dream 2. Rimmel Pro - Ultra Violet
3. Sinful Colors - Amethyst
4. Kiko - 345 Jade Green
5. Color Club
6. Kiko - 346 Olive Drab
7. Barry M - Blueberry Ice cream
8. Barry M
9. Topshop - Airplane
10. Color Club
11. Rimmel - Style Hunter
12. Barry M
13. Revlon - Sunshine Sparkle
14. Sinful Colors - Unicorn
15. Kiko - 355 Canary Yellow

All the palest colours required 2 - 3 coats, the middle colours were 1 thick coat and the darkest all took 1 coat. To do this I painted about a third of my nail in the palest colour, it doesn't matter if you do more as the other colour will cover it, once that had dried I did the middle and then the tips which were the easiest. I tried when painting to make sure that the sections were relatively straight and even so striping the black was easier. As you can see I was a bit off with the black lines. If you were to recreate this it would make a lot more sense to use the taping method but I like to freehand as I feel that's the only way I'll become the best!! LOL

I called these ombre skittles as I feel they are more ombre than gradient hahaha.

Hopefulllllly my camera will be fixed real quick as I am expecting some awesome nail mail that I wish to share with you :)

Seeyou soon!

Jil Sander inspired Paisley Nail art

Ever since I saw her new gorgeous Paisley print clothing in Elle I knew I would have to do a mani inspired by it! I love me some paisley, you an get lost when drawing it and when you add more than one colour it looks so good! I only did the paisley as accent nails as I was limited on time plus I think it would have been a bit much to have this on all 10 nails lol.
I started with Zoya Dannii which the lovely Anna sent me :) I'm sure you've all seen Dannii before but incase you haven't it's a purple foil with silver, red and coppery shimmer which create a warm glow when under bright light. It was opaque in one coat but I did two to get the full effect. And two nails of a Sally Hansen French white, which somehow I managed to get opaque in two coats!

Then I added a coat of my new fav Seche Vite to make sure I had a perfectly smooth and dry surface, which is the key thing when doing freehand designs with a pen, you do not want to just drag the tacky polish of the nail with the nib! I've done that before and it's not pretty. I used the pink, yellow and purple nail supreme pens, I love them! Here's the final result.

Left hand

Showing off - my right hand ;) you can see the faults though!
The original print by Jil Sander was pink, blue and green but I chose these colours as I prefer them and my blue pen is having a serious blob attack at the moment :P. I'm pretty happy with these, everyone who has seen them asked if they were transfers/wraps so that's a good sign. The only thing I don't like is using Dannii on the rest of my nails, it looks okay in the pictures but IRL it looks less good, I wanted the purple to pick out the purple in the design but instead it makes it fade away almost lol! Or maybe I'm just being dramatic :P.

Also if you don't follow Nails Inc on Facebook you really have to, that's how I found out about the Jubilee Lucky Dip deal; 6 randomly selected full size polishes for £15!!!!!!!! Can you believe that?! This deal is available until 5th June but only if stocks last that long, which I doubt, so if you haven't already take advantage! Sorry all my non UK readers for the jelly you will feel at this amazing deal lol

Hope you enjoyed

Graphic Lines nail art

Hi, I feel like I haven't blogged in ages and that's because I, like many others around the world have been making the most of this glorious weather! But I promise I am back now, I have a couple more posts lined up after this so that should tide me over until I change my nails :).

You know how the best designs are the ones you didn't want to create initially? Well that is what happened today. I set myself an ambitious 5 different pattern design but it went completely wrong and then I got a new idea from the wreckage and I love it! I love instagram as there are so great nail artists showcased on there and my absolute favourite is astrowifey (type that into instagram to find her) she does amazing work and I urge you to check her out if you want to see some serious mini artworks! Anyway this mani is inspired by her :)

As usual I freehanded the lines with my nail art pen (you can probably tell on my pinkie!). The pink is one of the unknown color clubs, green is Kiko 345 Jade Green and yellow is Unicorn by Sinful Colors (from the wonderful Katee) I really like this yellow it's nice and soft and only takes two coats to reach opacity :). All three colours took two coats for opacity.
Like I said earlier I really like these designs, they're quite simple and it's something different for me too and I think they look good ;). My favourites are the middle and index fingers.

I should be getting some nail mail tomorrow :D only small but good!

Seeyou all tomorrow!

Did my sister's nails mix up style

I know I said I wouldn't be posting till monday but as soon as I got home my sis was like Abbbieeee can you do my nails! So obviously I said yes, she also went a bit crazy at my collection picking all the glitters out and covering her nails lol it made me feel a little less crazy ;). She's 17 btw hahah anyway we spent about half an hour planning, she couldn't decide what to have but she eventually chose 10 different designs and then we picked out the colours and what order to do them in. Painting them didn't take that long only about an hour and a half due to her laughing her head off :P.
Her nails look pretty cute if I say so myself

She loved that glitter, she's totally amazed by it lol so thanks Katee! Obviously I used too many polishes to list but if there is a specific colour that you'd like to know I can tell you :) As usual I freehanded it all with my new favourite pens :) it was fun.

I am not looking forward to unpacking, I think my mum nearly cried when she saw how much stuff I bought back, it stressed her out big time but I'll put it all away nicely for her :). Right I definitely will be seeing you on monday! Have a good weekend

Going Bananas with Kiko!

Hey, I removed my paisley yesterday as I had a bit of growth at the base and that was it, no tipwear and no chips! Awesome lol. My bf has been asking me to do banana nails for a few weeks now so I obliged last night.I should know by now that painting nails at night is not a good idea, it always goes wrong! And it certainly did :( painting was fine, here's Kiko Canary Yellow, 2 coats.
It's rather bright, not a neon but certainly bright! I liked it so then the bad stuff happened....I originally did bananas from the base of my nail but then I tried with some on the tip and prefered it that way so cos it was late and I was feeling lazy I just removed the black and then did a quick coat of yellow over the half removed bananas, so basically my nails felt lumpy and you could see some black still under the yellow :( well here are the finished nanaaarrrs ;)

Not that bad I guess but not what I hoped for either, bananas are weirdly difficult to draw lol.

Ooh I got a bargain today, everytime I go into Debenhams (which is a lot) I always pick up the same things and put them down again, and one of those was Dosh from Butter London, I was drawn to the green despite my bad previous experience with the brand but I could never justify the £12 price. Today I went in and Dosh was half price! It was the only one that had money off!! Can you believe it? :D what luck hehe

I hope you enjoyed my bananas :)

Dior Lucky swatches + Paisley Nail art

I think I managed to get a kind of colour accurate photo of Lucky at last, it's a really unique and beautiful colour, it's really bright and happy, perfect for summer! Even better is the fact that it cost me £3 hahaha

Lucky is from the summer colour blocking collection and it's a very pink red, it changes but it's so beautiful.
It was opaque in two superrrr smooth coats and it dried rather quick, it is a creme but it has the Dior secret sparse silver shimmer (oh yeah for alliteration ;)). The brush shape makes it really easy to apply as does the perfect formula. I'd have been happy to pay full price for this to be honest.
I ordered a set of 10 Nail Supreme nail art pens and they arrived today, super quick shipping btw, I have always wanted to do Paisley print nails but my old Wahnails pens are too unreliable and prone to blobbing everywhere so I thought I'd try a different brand. You get 8 cremes and two glitters and from what I have tried so far they seem to be good quality.

Originally I wanted to use the yellow or blue but they weren't showing up very well so I went with white. Once I figured out the best way to hold and squeeze the pens, making the design was a breeze, et voila!
As you may be able to see I smudged my little finger nail with the top coat so after that I dotted the top coat on :P. I love this! I think I did a good job, if I say so myself, I can't imagine getting rid of this anytime soon, I'm proud lol! I think I'm going to love those new pens too, they cost £19.99  for the set of 10 so not bad really.

What do you think of my creation?
