Zoya Yara Swatches and Review

Hey, so tonight I am reviewing Yara from Zoya's Smoke and Mirrors collection, this is my chosen mani to go to London with, good choice I think ;). Yesterday I had Neeka on and oh my she came off so easily! I was expecting pain because of the tiny glitter particles but no it was smooth sailing, if only every removal was as easy.
Don't forget to click to enlarge
All photos taken without flash just artificial lighting, two coats and no topcoat.

Looook at that gold!!

All of these pictures are accurate in terms of colour and texture of the lovely Yara, it went on like Neeka....i.e. a dream *sigh* so smoooth and could have been opaque with one coat and she dried so quickly, I am amazed by Zoya, I need more shame I have literally no money :'(.
I love this colour, green and gold shimmery olive, dusty gorgeous perfection in a bottle! I feel elegant wearing it, I just know people will also heart this colour, yay another gorgeous green.
There's nothing more to say other than if you haven't got this, what are you doing?! Go out and get it, NOW :).

I got more nail mail today as well, Essie Limited addiction and Little Brown Dress, I know I am going to wear LA for Vday it looks to be a lush red. I am not going to be able to post tomorrow, sat or sunday but I will be back on monday! I hope Yara sees me through this weekend of galleries, shopping and eating, I'll let you know.
I hope you all have a great weekend, seeyou soon!

Zoya Neeka Swatches and Review

I had a plan, it was a good plan it was to wear Neeka today and then replace it with the stunning Order of the Garter by A-England (they arrived yesterday eeeek) however I have done something terrible....I cut my nails too short, I can't stand it. Whilst I'm typing this I can actually feel the keys on my fingers in a place that I have never felt before D: . The last time I had them this short was when I was 13 and did trampolining and Tae Kwon Do where my instructors had to bring nail clippers in and threaten to cut them to the bone unless I cut them to a reasonable length (hahahhah). But yes I went too far with the clippers so I don't want to put OotG on my horrible short nails :'(.

Anyway about Neeka, it is a gorgeous nail varnish and it goes on so smoothly with one thick coat it is basically opaque, I did two anyway to bring out the loverly gold, pink and green (in my opinion) shimmery particles. It dried within minutes!! Every review I've read refered to that as an average drying time! I must be realllly patient because I'm used to having to wait at least 15 minutes for perfect non smudgy dryness but this was dry within minutes, amazing!

I had trouble photographing it but eventually I got the actual colour on film as it were :)

Like I said these are colour accurate yay :)

Just one to show you the green sparkles I was talking about :P

The more I look at my nails the more I realise that I do love this colour, I should because it's three of my favourite nail polish things in one: it's dark, purple and shimmery. At first I wasn't feeling it but that was because of how short my nails are but this polish is coming into its own despite the fact that it is a miserable day outside, and everyone knows how dark polishes make your nails look longer. So yeah she was worth the two week wait :) but I still hate my little finger on my right hand it is way shorter than the rest :(.

If you like purple, dark and shimmery like me go get this polish! This is with a topcoat of models own 3 in 1 .

Nail mail!

Hiya

Yesterday was the longest day of my life. Ever. It was my photography assessment so everyone in my group had an hour to hang their work in the studio then we were meant to split into two groups and have separate critques but no we stayed together and I ended up standing up for approx 8 hours :| my back was killling :(. But when I got back I had a parcel waiting for me :D and it was my 6 polishes from Lithuania!! Yay.
I haven't tried any yet (I know, I know!) but I took a picture of them looking all pretty and sparkly :) and hopefully I will get chance to try one on tonight, I'm thinking Zoya Neeka. It will be my first Zoya polish everrrr, so I'm looking forward to wearing it heheh.

So this is just a quick post to let you know what's happening in ma crazy life, some of my photography is going to be exhibited in a gallery next week until March so I need to mount it etc today so that is why I might not have time to do my nails :( plus the laundry needs doing :( :(.  Buuuut this week is going to be exciting for me wooo!

I gave in and bought two A-England nail varnishes from The Legends collection, I bought St George and Order of the Garter, i nearly bought The Dragon but I thought I'd try something a bit different with the blue.
My favourite colours of nail varnish are green and purple as you can tell from my lust list :P

Good day! H&M swatch, Sally Hansen and Tartan nails

Hiya, so today I handed in my uni project so to celebrate I gave myself a £10 budget to spend on nail varnish, not a lot I know but I wanted to try a brand I've never tried before H&M. I bought two polishes a green Polish me Happy which I have swatched and No Mumbo Jumbo which I have yet to try, I also got Sally Hansen Insta-dri topcoat and French manicure as I was after a decent priced white and it came with a pretty pink with blue shimmer :D.

Here is Polish me Happy

I really like this colour, it's a lovely true green, it can be summery and it can work in winter too as it isn't a bright green. The application was okay for what it cost £2.99 it only took two coats to be opaque so that's not bad at all and it doesn't smell too much either which is a plus annnnnd I love the bottles I think they're so smart for such a cheap polish :).

I used the Sally Hansen Insta-dri topcoat after the alloted time of 2 mins and it was amazing!! I messed up a couple of my nails when I painted them and this topcoat completely smoothed them, they became so silky and not ruined anymore! I'm impressed. It does a fairly good job at drying them too, they're still a bit wet when you touch your nails together as they have a slight tack but you couldn't tell to touch them :). Another good purchase.

I loved the green and I knew it would be perfect for my new nail design, I've done tartan before but more simple and using the brushes not the pen but I love this, it's probably my favourite design that I've done as of yet. Even my boyfriend was impressed he said they look like an actual tartan blanket! Yay. Tadah!

I hope you liked these nails, I'm going to be posting a lot this week I hope as I am offering my services to people at uni to try and make some cash so I'll keep you posted.

Have you ever tried H&M polish?

Models Own Golden Green (Beetle Juice) Swatches and review

Here's another polish from the Beetle Juice collection of 2011, this time it's Golden Green, which could be a dupe for Chanel Peridot at first glance however it's not although it was probably inspired by Chanel like the Car-Key collection was :)!

I really like this photograph, you can tell that the sun was just about to set, it's a gorgeous glowy light (sorry that's the photography student side of me talking :P).

This is only two coats put on in about 2 minutes as I was in a hurry as the sun wasn't going to be around for much longer and I was baking biscuits (which were yummmmmy) anyway it goes on fine and dries pretty quick too and it comes off super quick and easy although you are left with a gold shimmer on your bare nails which I happen to like haha. I don't think this colour suits me, it's okay when it's green like in the top picture and it's lovely when it's golden but when it's a mix like above....I don't know all I can think is Aliens! Like this is what an alien woman's nails would look like. It's so spacey, you could interpret that as very modern ;) I do like it, I was ooing and arring at it when it was in the sunlight but I just cant get past how lizard like it is, it just doesn't suit me.

Even though I probably won't wear it again, I won't give it away, ever. I like looking at it, it's pretty and ugly at the same time.

Do you like this colour? Would you wear it?

Models Own Purple Blue (Beetle Juice) Swatches and Review

I got the Beetle Juice collection literally the minute they came available online but I've only worn each one once...I was so excited when I saw the promo photos so I felt bad for neglecting them so I put purple blue over forget me not to do some swatches as the sun was out! It was 1 degree outside but the sun was shining so I took advantage.

All these photos are taken with sunlight as the only light source! It was so bright :D one layer of varnish.

Here it is blue and purple glitter...

As you can see here it now looks pink and purple...

A bit out of focus but it shows all the different colours in the polish

When the sun hits it it changes to a gorgeous coppery orange, strange photo I know but it was the only way to capture the orange, look how sparkly it is!

The final photo shows all four colours, orange, pink, purple and blue.

As I said this is only one coat as it is over another polish but I think it would need 3 to be completely opaque, it's a gorgeous colour, my second favourite behind Emerald Black but that's one of my nail varnishes that's at home :(. It's easy enough to remove and has a decent drying time, I don't what else to say apart from I like it and I wish the sun would come out more often so I could wear it :).

Because I didn't post yesterday due to uni deadline being tomorrow :| I'm going to post another beetle juice swatch today!

Have you got any of these polishes? Would you want any?
