Essie Going Incognito Swatches and Review

Evenin' :)
Sooo tonight I am reviewing another old Essie Going Incognito from Winter 2010 which I recently acquired as you may know. I'm a sucker for green, like my boyfriend said Green is obviously my colour lol, I don't know why I just love greeen, it's never dull and always happy.

These pictures are colour accurate and I'm so happy about that, look at how lovely she is :). Going Incognito is a forest green which almost looks ever so slightly teal at times, I'm not complaining it's a beautiful colour and I think it really suits my skin tone. The application was opaque on two and a half coats for me cos I had tiny bald spots on a few nails, it took ages to dry though even with SH Insta-dri eventually it got there.
Despite how lovely she is on her own I just couldn't help but to mess and put a design on top, it looks good on my left hand but it is horrendous on my right hand and I have no excuses, I haven't done any designs on my nails in a while so that could be why. Anyway onto the pictures

I do like it but I think I should have left my nails plain especially since I ruined the other hand -_-* oh well at least it's quite a dark design ;).

On another note I am spending more and more money to fuel my once-was-normal-now-is-insane addiction to nail polish (see I even call it polish now not varnish! What's happening to me??) so as I am at uni and should be spending my money on laundry or drinking or something I have pledged not to buy anymore polishes until I have used all my untrieds! For a lot of the blogs I read this would mean they would never buy polish again :P but luckily I only have 20 left to go including the two Butter Londons and an effect topcoat I bought off ebay (for a stupid price :(). It was that that made me realise I need to stop but then we went to Colchester and they sold OPI LIKE EVERYWHERE! And I couldn't buy a single one not even Swimsuit nailed it! :'( *cry cry*

Vday is over! Accessorize Sapphire Swatches and Review

Good evening, I don't know about you but I'm over Vday, probably because I live with my boyfriend every day and we go to the same uni so I see him everyday and he treats me everyday so Valentines isn't really that special for us. So I got bored of my mani and replaced it with a polish I was quite skeptical to try Accessorize Sapphire, I've never paid attention to these polishes, the colours were too bland I guess but when I saw this I knew I had to have it.

All of these are taken with artificial lighting and NO topcoat..

These pictures are colour (and shine) accurate! Sapphire is a grey-blue (?) with amazing silver-blue shimmery particles.
Gah! Isn't it soooo gorgeous! So sparkly and glowy I am genuinely in lurrrrve. This is one perfect polish. 1. Application is AMAZING, so smooth,no clean up required. 2. This is a one coater just as it claims to be! 3. It dried within a couple of minutes, fully dried no smudging or anything within 3 minutes! 4. The colour! The shine! 5. The price £4....Bargain! Ugh I'm just overwhelmed by it all. This would be great if you were in a rush, seriously you need this in your life hahahah.
I'm sure they have more colours and I believe they have a hot pink metalized one as well which would be amazing.

I cannot recommend this enough, please go out and get it, you will not regret it :). I'm going to hunt for the others now :P.

Also today I bought 3 Sinful colors and 2 Butter Londons with free delivery for the UK! I got them from www.naturisimo.com for £9.60 each so that's 40p less than Boots website plus free delivery. I must have been living under a rock to not know that Boots.com sells Butter London polishes at £10 each but they only have a limited range as do naturisimo but limited is better than international shipping costs ;).

If you too were living under a rock like I was till my London trip you can buy OPIs from Colourcopia in Westfield Stratford and Selfrigdes and the website www.lenawhite.co.uk sells them for £11 which makes no sense to me but you get what you're given and all that.

Seeyou all soon!

My heart skipped a beat

Valentines mani, Essie Limited Addiction, I said I was going to wear it on Vday and I was right!

It was lovely to apply, a jelly(??) after two coats there was still a VNL but I didn't mind too much, it took ages to dry though, so SH inst-dri was definitely a big help most of the time I use it to smooth out mistakes and to add amazing shine :). These pictures are colour accurate, Limited Addiction is my new favourite red although I only have two real reds :O.

After it dried I did this design which is inspired by a Vday card I saw in a shop with the tag "my heart skipped a beat" I thought it was totally cute and not over the top. I messed up the index finger so I tried to distract from it by using Accessorize in Crystal Shimmer but it doesn't really work in all lighting

Flash

Just artificial lighting to show the colours

It's a bitty polish, would be fun with more layers over a paler colour like Essie Navigate Her I think, I'll try it one day nearer Spring.

I hope you enjoyed this Valentines day mani, sorry it's a bit rushed I'm waiting to watch Lost S3 for the fourth time, yes I love it that much ;). Have a great day tomorrow!

OPI Royal Rajah Ruby Swatches and Review

Hello again, I forgot to press send on my previous post (duh!) so tonight shall be a triple posting to make up for the weekend of nothingness. So OPI Royal Rajah Ruby, my first OPI, I don't want to say bad things cos every review I've read has been glowing *wink wink* but maybe I just had a dud bottle or maybe this is how OPIs apply, who knows?

Sorry about how messy my fingers are...two coats no top coat, flash
just to show how glowy it is :)

I wanted to love this colour, I think I did but I just wasn't feeling it for some reason I had all my other polishes that I got from LDN next to me so it was probably my impatience to try something new (typical me). The first coat was pretty patchy and the brush kept dragging the polish around my nail, maybe it's because I'm not used to the OPI brush. It got better by the second coat, still had bald patches though, so could have used a third coat. In the bottle this colour is sexy and glamorous, it definitely has flashes of brown amongst the ruby and it's so shimmery and dark and broody but I just didn't love it as much as I should have.
I think I'll come back to it another day when I don't want to do nail art!

Despite my bad experience the colour is totally worth it, a gorgeous colour for keeps ;).

Keep yo eyes peeled for my Valentines day nails, I know it's late but hey ho better late than never and you can have nails like this everyday if you wanted :)

Good afternoon, I'm back (obviously) I had a great time in London, hope everyone had a good weekend too. I got 5 polishes from London and 6 before I went so I'm going to show you what they are, I'll do the 6 pre trip first...

L-R: Essie Limited addiction and Little Brown dress, A-England Order of the Garter and St. George, Accessorize Crystal Shimmer and Sapphire.

Cannot wait to try out my A-Englands but the weather here is so bland, it would be a waste, these babies need sunshine and lots of it! These are my first Accessorize polishes I have high hopes that sapphire is going to be really nice it claims to be a one coater, but we'll see ;).

When I went to London I hoped that the flagship store of Topshop would sell OPI so I looked everywhere but they didn't yet they sold Barry M which can be found in every Superdrug and Boots! Anyway we went to Harrods on the last day and they had a small selection of OPI and Essie yay, I was disappointed that the latest collection they had was Touring America so as I thought I wasn't going to find my beloved OPIs anywhere else I bought Russian Navy and Diva of Geneva (it looked pretty). They did have Essies Spring 2012 collection though so I got Navigate her :) the women who worked there were so snobby haha. After Harrods we went on to Europes largest Westfield which was where I discovered THE MOST AMAZING SHOP....why was it so amazing....because it had every single OPI nail varnish! Even the NOPIs!! If you're reading this in the US I'm sure this is no big deal for you but for us Brits who have no access to real life OPIs it was awesome! I was so excited I could have bought all of them but I was on a very tight budget so I got two, I have a Herring problem (!!!!) and Royal Rajah Ruby.

L-R OPI Diva of Geneva, Russian Navy, Royal Rajah Ruby and I have a Herring Problem and Essie Navigate Her.

I'm going to swatch Royal Rajah Ruby later and if it lives up to its reputation and bottle *fingers crossed* I might wear it for Valentines Day tomorrow instead of my planned nail art.

Seeyou soon sweets!

Zoya Yara Swatches and Review

Hey, so tonight I am reviewing Yara from Zoya's Smoke and Mirrors collection, this is my chosen mani to go to London with, good choice I think ;). Yesterday I had Neeka on and oh my she came off so easily! I was expecting pain because of the tiny glitter particles but no it was smooth sailing, if only every removal was as easy.
Don't forget to click to enlarge
All photos taken without flash just artificial lighting, two coats and no topcoat.

Looook at that gold!!

All of these pictures are accurate in terms of colour and texture of the lovely Yara, it went on like Neeka....i.e. a dream *sigh* so smoooth and could have been opaque with one coat and she dried so quickly, I am amazed by Zoya, I need more shame I have literally no money :'(.
I love this colour, green and gold shimmery olive, dusty gorgeous perfection in a bottle! I feel elegant wearing it, I just know people will also heart this colour, yay another gorgeous green.
There's nothing more to say other than if you haven't got this, what are you doing?! Go out and get it, NOW :).

I got more nail mail today as well, Essie Limited addiction and Little Brown Dress, I know I am going to wear LA for Vday it looks to be a lush red. I am not going to be able to post tomorrow, sat or sunday but I will be back on monday! I hope Yara sees me through this weekend of galleries, shopping and eating, I'll let you know.
I hope you all have a great weekend, seeyou soon!

Zoya Neeka Swatches and Review

I had a plan, it was a good plan it was to wear Neeka today and then replace it with the stunning Order of the Garter by A-England (they arrived yesterday eeeek) however I have done something terrible....I cut my nails too short, I can't stand it. Whilst I'm typing this I can actually feel the keys on my fingers in a place that I have never felt before D: . The last time I had them this short was when I was 13 and did trampolining and Tae Kwon Do where my instructors had to bring nail clippers in and threaten to cut them to the bone unless I cut them to a reasonable length (hahahhah). But yes I went too far with the clippers so I don't want to put OotG on my horrible short nails :'(.

Anyway about Neeka, it is a gorgeous nail varnish and it goes on so smoothly with one thick coat it is basically opaque, I did two anyway to bring out the loverly gold, pink and green (in my opinion) shimmery particles. It dried within minutes!! Every review I've read refered to that as an average drying time! I must be realllly patient because I'm used to having to wait at least 15 minutes for perfect non smudgy dryness but this was dry within minutes, amazing!

I had trouble photographing it but eventually I got the actual colour on film as it were :)

Like I said these are colour accurate yay :)

Just one to show you the green sparkles I was talking about :P

The more I look at my nails the more I realise that I do love this colour, I should because it's three of my favourite nail polish things in one: it's dark, purple and shimmery. At first I wasn't feeling it but that was because of how short my nails are but this polish is coming into its own despite the fact that it is a miserable day outside, and everyone knows how dark polishes make your nails look longer. So yeah she was worth the two week wait :) but I still hate my little finger on my right hand it is way shorter than the rest :(.

If you like purple, dark and shimmery like me go get this polish! This is with a topcoat of models own 3 in 1 .
