Matte White with neon rose nail art

Hey,
I've been super busy with uni work (what's new?) so not a lot of time for nails as usual :( although I did manage to swatch Gosh Holographic Hero but the pictures don't do it any justice so I didn't post it, I might post it later if I can.
I painted my nails white as I think they can look really chic as long as it's a good application, I was watching QVC this morning like you do and Nails Inc was on and the lady said something like ugh nobody wants white nails, they're so 80s! Lol! Not to me ;). I mattified one hand to originally show you but I ended up mattifying all my nails :)
I new I wanted to add some nail art and that it was going to be neon as the white base was screaming for it ;) this was my first time doing roses since Feb 2012!! LOL I was obviously scarred by my only attempt. I never could get my head around how to do roses for some reason....but I do now :)

I wanted to hold a typically british biscuit like a custard cream but we had eaten them all so I settled for a breakfast biscuit :P. Biscuits were needed for 2 reasons; 1. they're yuuuummy and 2. I thought my nails look like a floral teacup....yeah.

I just mixed I'm With the Lifeguard with a black polish to make the darker green and the neon pink is SpaRitual Dreamsicle. I didn't add a topcoat as I liked how everything is matte :)
It must be a while since I have done real nail art as I tried to do my right hand and even with such a simple design I failed D: first time in a long time I've only got one hand done! tutututut need to get back into doing more nail art...any requests??

Hope you like it!

Nails Inc Chester Terrace swatches

Hi, it's pooey weather here which gave me an excuse to wear a darker colour namely one from my Lucky Dip, I figured that I should give them a chance ;). I chose Chester Terrace and as usual I found maybe one swatch! So it was a nice surprise when as soon as I put it on it started drying to a satin finish! I say satin as it's not completely matte it has a velvety glow to it rather than being flat. As I've come to expect with Nails Inc it was a pleasure to apply, a perfect formula! I used three coats although two was sufficient. I did three as my ridges were crazy visible! My base combo isn't working anymore so I think I may bite the bullet and try buffing :/ I'm scared to do it though as I've always had healthy nails and I don't want to ruin that y'know.

The polish is a deep teal in the bottle and when it's on my nails it turns quite blue but never black, I meant to take a picture before it dried but I wasn't that quick ;). I'm hoping that the other colour I got in my lucky dip is from the same 'texture' collection, that'd be sweet!
See what I mean about ridges and tipwear? Natural light 2 coats
Just to show off my points ;) and because the polish looks smooth and unblemished here! Flash 3 coats
(Sorry about the photos apparently I had my eyes shut when I was taking all of my pictures...)
It's really nice, my nails feel like they are wearing leather or something it's kinda hot ;).
The only down side to this is that I've had major chippage and tip wear after a couple of hours :( boo. Do you like how my nails are getting pointier? Cos I really do, I want bad ass nails, nail swag cos I'm a nail junkie ;) No nails no life right!?! Hahahahhaha

I've finally gotten round to buying a glass file and ooooffft I just love it! It really does finish off your edge perfectly and it take the chore out of filing which we all know can be a bore. With this nail shape I'll never have to use clippers again on filing so the thought of being able to use a nice glass file that should last years is a good one. Oh yeah and I love the little black velvet pouch, soooo good to feel ha!

Zoya Phoebe Swatches

Good afternoon :) Yesterday I put Zoya Phoebe on in order to cheer me up and to distract from the constant rain that most of England is suffering with, April showers and all that *sigh*. Anyway this is one of the polishes that Bethany sent me and I couldn't wait to wear it, it's so pretty!
This is two coats over two coats of base coat (to try and smooth out my ridges ;)) It went on so smoothly and obviously dried super quick! I didn't find any problems with the application, it was perfect :). I really like it, it's so bright but not garish and it is a perfect summer colour, it also is working on making this weather feel less miserable especially when paired with my equally bright pink jumper :D
So summery! I think they match pretty well :P. I have decided to challenge myself to wear this polish for as long as I can, I guess it's kind of a wear test as obviously I can't put a topcoat on to protect it but the main reason for doing this is because I used to wear the same polish until it was completely chipped! But now I change like everyday two days, so I want to slow down, I'm not sure I can though so this will be a good test. I plan to put Nubar Polka Dots on top later in the week for a refresh, I'll keep you updated on wear and my will to go on ;)

Also I'm kind of fooling myself thinking that I might like the pink from this mini collection as the matte makes it okay but I know I would hate it...I just want to like pink nails!  LOL

Hope you all enjoyed! Seeyou soon

Revlon Plum Fizz

Hey, I was meant to post this last night but I was too tired. I am wearing my 9th polish from my untrieds that means I have worn 9 different polishes from last tuesday to today! Ha! Anyway, Plum Night is a lovely dark purple but it NEVER looks black IRL however as it's purple ofc my camera couldn't capture it right so it looks too greyed out :( I nearly didn't post these pictures because they don't do my final mani justice at all.
This is two medium coats for opaque coverage, it took forever to dry :/ but it is a nice vampy shade of purple :).
After that I added two coats of Revlon Grape Fizz which for the record, doesn't smell like grapes :( I only picked this up the other day...before my no-buy as I had never seen it on the Revlon stand before, I know it's not new to the US at least. Anyway I looove it, so sparkly and pretty and the smell ain't so bad the next day, it kept making me smile everytime I smelt it :).
Pictures aren't too good,

Erm yeah. I told you they weren't great, you can't really tell how lovely it looked :( after a night I was so bored with it, I decided to mattify, best decision ever! It took it to a new level of pretty.
Everyone knows that glitters, flakies and flecks are just waiting to be mattified, they just look so awesome.

With flash to show the inner glow

These two are with artificial light to try and get the colour accurate as possible.

Ugh I just love how velvety it looks when matte, it's larvely ;) I used Rimmel Pro matte top coat, I highly recommend that you try this out :) Grape Fizz really comes alive when layered over Plum Night it's a really good base for it IMO I just wish I had Facets of Fuchsia as well to put on top :P.

I'm changing this today though, after lunch to OPI Stranger Tides so look out for that!

Seeyou later
