90s Grunge...neon gradient

Hey guys!
Hope you've all had a good week, mine's been stresssssful! Anywho this mani came about as I was feeling lazy and inspired by Spring's beauty trend of grunge, lazy and inspired?! I wanted to use my new Sparituals neon as it's so lovely for spring/summer/anytime. I used 3 coats of Barry M Nude and then I did one thin coat of Dreamsicle to just above half way, then whilst it was still wet I dipped a small brush into Nude and used it to both smudge the polish and make it paler. Then I went over dreamsicle up to where the smudge begins. Simple!
I got bored one night and drew on my middle finger and it didn't come off ha. Then I got the nail glue out and started sticking foil to my tips cos I thought it would look coooool but the glue just blobbed everywhere so it didn't work out and now it looks stupid but you can't really see it in the picture but I just thought I'd let you know ;).

Wearin' my new dress from Century 21 (best shoppppp) I like these nails but I'm ready to change them hahaha! Don't know what to do yet but I'll think of something I'm sure....I hope the nail glue comes off easily though, don't know why I used it.....

I'm suffering for the first time in years with really dry hands and I've peeled all my fingers, it didn't hurt until I reached the creases....I know it's bad but I couldn't stop myself :( now my fingers look gross and are kind of sore. Sorry for that, a bit creepy but relevant yes?

Christmas glitter gradient

Howdy!
I know the title says christmas but this works all year long, plus the colour isn't necessarily associated with this time of year but who cares it's christmas after all ;).
I didn't realise until after I had made these that they look like effie trinkets nails from the reaping! Ha but mine are a bit more bling if that's possible??
The base colour is Illamasqua Stance, which is still my favourite purpley pink :) the gold glitter is Barry M gold glitter....imaginitive as always....which I may have said will never be an opaque glitter, in a previous post, well for this purpose it's perfect. The large glitter pieces are some loose glitter that I bought from my favourite place ;). I literally should be banned from there.

I like these nails alot, they are extremely simple and easy and quick!! The loose glitter cost 99p and will last me forever. The only problem I had was that when I put topcoat on it smudged the gold colouring off so I had to blob the topcoat on but that wasn't a big deal as I'm used to having to do that with nail art anyway.

I bought some nail glue yesterday in order to glue those tricky silver/clear rhinestones as using topcoat to stick them makes them go misty! :( so I figured nail glue wouldn't? I'm not sure but I'll let you know how it goes. But anyway I was worried that people would think my nails are fake lolol as everyone always does, I don't blame them though, my claws are pretty long...my thumbs are an actual inch long!

I go home for christmas on friday so I imagine I'll squeeze in my real christmas nails on christmas eve!! And if I get any polish for it you know I'll show you guys, I can't wait to see if anyone else gets some!

Have a good rest of the week!

Simple gradient with studs

Firstly, I am so sorry that I've been away for so long! I didn't mean to be, it's because I couldn't get any decent photographs of these nails! I did them on monday, tried to take photos but failed epically then tuesday to wednesday I was down in Brighton visiting my best friend and then today I've been doing errands and seeing the boyf so I managed to squeeze in a photo session but I'm still not happy with the photos but they'll have to do.
Yesterday night I was in bed watching the olympics and filing my nails down as they had gotten too long, I kept having visions of them catching on something and being pulled off :| plus they were out of shape ;). It took about an hour and a half to file them all! I drew where I wanted to file them to on my actual nails lol it worked though ha.

So onto the elusive mani, it's just a really simple gradient with added studs but it just doesn't photograph as well as it looks in real life. I've had this on, like I said, for four days now so excuse if it's a bit tatty!
I was going to put another picture on but it just looks awful! In real life it looks cool but not so much on the screen. Boo :(. I was really lazy when I did this gradient as I just did it onto a plain nail (base coat was on obviously) I really was not in the mood, I was really lacking inspo or desire to do my nails if I'm honest. I just need some new colours in my life ;).

I'm going to Cornwall for a week on saturday but I intend to have some scheduled posts (hopefully) or something in place lol! I'm a bad blogger :P.

My first paid photog gig went really well so thanks for all the nice messages :) luckily she got ready in her conservatory so lots of natural lighting for natural photographs, she was really happy so that made me happy, hehehe.

Bit of a let down mani after such a long wait?

Cray cray Leopard print Rainbow gradient

Sorry Lizzy it's not Zuza just yet :P

I saw a design on Wahnails instagram of these rainbow leopard print nails and I thought they were so awesome so I had to recreate, mine are a bit different and very bright! I started with a white base to make all the colours pop and to save time ;) so I used Barry M Matte white, which is an okay white, I only used two coats as I didn't need full coverage. Here are all the polishes I used
Barry M Matte White, Kiko 358 Peach Rose, Dior Riviera, Barry M Cyan Blue, Kiko 355 Canary Yellow and China Glaze I'm with the Lifeguard
Kind of a teaser for what's to come in like 5 seconds hahahhaha
I used the on the sponge method, I love how the colours blended together to make new colours :) I am in LOVE with Lifeguard, it's so neon hahaha. In real life this is very bright and vibrant. Next is the leopard print on top of this cray cray gradient.
Left hand in natural light

Right hand in natural light

I love the way the gradient on my right hand turned out the best, it's so pretty! I wish you could see how bright this is and how fun it looks. All we need now is sunnnnnnnnnn stupid England, I swear we are never going to get summer here :(. I freehanded the leopard print using my new and improved Wah nail art pen in black, I have a much better experience with that pen now that it's changed haha.
The gradient looks so much nicer in real life not as sludgy as it looks on the first picture. I'm happy happy happy with this and my photos too. I think I'll start doing photos of both my hands when I do nail art from now on so you can see that I do it on both nails ;).

You like how I've decided to get all fancy with my photos? I want my blog to look good and I should put my degree to use ;). I got my results and feedback through the post today and I'm very pleased with myself, I got a 2.1= overall which is good to say I never studied photography in college, it goes to show that you can do anything you want! I love this course so much, I can't wait to start my second year in september!! Wooooo.

Summer leopard print gradient

Wow 99 followers! Yay hello everyone :)
I was going to post this last night after my sister's fashion show (which was really good, I'm very proud) but mum wanted me to do her olympic nails as I won't be able to do them tonight and she is seeing the torch on thursday hence why she wanted the nails. I might put a picture up but I'm not sure cos I'm not happy with them, they're not very good :(.
Anyway I did this design after I did it o a set of falsies and loved it :P I started with Barry M Matte White, one coat! then I sponged Models Own Coral Reef and Kiko 358 and Matte White, it only took two sponged coats as I used the white as a base, clean up was horrible though as I didn't put vaseline around my cuticles and fingers so the red got everywhere and I couldn't get it all off without removing too much of the sponging so excuse the mess!
Yeah I don't like this gradient by itself but it only stayed like that for a few minutes whilst it dried. Onto the leopard print!

But this, I love! It looks like a iced summery drink :D again I'm just willing summer to arrive! This is a very easy and quick thing to do but it looks impressive, which is my kind of thing ;). I don't really have much else to say about it other than I neeeeed a new black nail art pen, gah you don't know how hard I had to squeeze to get a thin stream! My thumbs were killing after this haha.

I'll be doing my BFFFFFFF's nails tonight, she's the reason I created my pandas, so can you guess what she wants ;)

Have a good day everyone :)

Part stash, part gradient

So today I did another gradient, again it was quite subtle, as I don't have my camera I couldn't capture it, IRL you can see the colour change but alas in the photos it's like looking for the lochness monster....you have to look real close for a long time to catch a glimpse ;). It's a shame though cos it looks nice in person. I did do three layers then topcoat but it was too shiny so I added a couple more layers which helped but not much lol
Shiny, you can kind of see it

More visible without topcoat
I added Dior Nirvana over Chanel Blue Boy, like I said it looks nice IRL and super smooth, almost airbrushed :D but it just isn't coming across in pictures :(. I can't wait to wear Nirvana on it's own, it's so pretty!

Here's the part stash...part :P this is my most favourite part of my stash...the Diors :)
Bitter Orange (discontinued, bought off ebay the other day for a fiver!!), Waterlily (ebay), Forget-me-not (£13), Nirvana (present), Lucky (£3), Riviera (ebay £9) and Saint Tropez (full price....I couldn't resist it:P)
I have to put the prices to show that I'm not made of money I just find bargains and collect Debenhams beauty points, they really add up :) I've only ever paid full price for one Dior polish so it's okay, aren't they so pretty?!

Hope you enjoyed!

Nail art: Gradient and Union Jacks

This is a post about two pieces of nail art that I have done over the past three days. That's the good thing about coming home, I get to do my sister and my mum's (rarely!) nails :). For my sister I gave her a purple and pink gradient, of course it had to be pink :P it does look good though....and then leopard print over the top :) I really love this especially on her short nails so if you have shorter nails you should totally try this!
Action shot ;)

The pink is Rimmel Pro Urban Princess (?) and the purple is Rimmel Pro Ultra Violet, I'm glad she chose these two actually they merge real nice and go with her tan ;). I used the same method as last time for the gradient.
My mum works at a primary school and today they are having Jubilee day as obviously the real Jubilee day is a bank holiday, so they're having a "street party" on the playground with a bbq and fun stuff. So she wanted me to give her Union Jack nails, so that's what I spent my night doing :P and here they are
mum's nails

Hehe :) the base colour of these is Order of the Garter from a-england, the white and red are just stripers. Mum's nails are a nice size for these, she has wider nails than me so the flags could be quite even :) she loved them, she keeps waving them at people in the street :| LOL!

Hope you've enjoyed these nails that aren't mine :) I'll be back later with a Nails Inc sprinkleeeee! Woo

Gradient with Kiko

I've sooo jumped on the awesome gradient bandwagon! How could I not, they just look so cool! I chose a pastel-ish gradient, originally I was just going to have one colour nails but then I got bored , how often does that happen eh? :P. First I had Kiko 345 Jade Green on, which applied so smooth and was opaque in two coats, such good quality for the price!
Gorgeous colour right?

I sponged Kiko 338 Light Lavender using the polish on the sponge method that we all know and love thanks to this tutorial :) it was super easy to do and looks really good IRL however it doesn't really translate to film, I'm not sure why but here are the pictures

I used a makeup sponge so the transition was very smooth however I think I overdid it with the sponge as I kept pulling polish up to form little horrible lumps :( lol I'm surprised I didn't remove it as it's so lumpy at the tips. So next time I will slow down with the sponging, I think it's cos I didn't have enough polish on the sponge so I will definitely try again :).

What do you think to my gradient?
