3D rose bush nail art

Hey lovelies, me again! :)

Today, as promised is some nail art, which you may remember reading, I said I was enamoured with and that is still true...I was totally inspired by the roses that I received in my diy nails lucky dip bag and so I decided to paint some roses and then contrast those with the 3D roses.
This is one of those rare occasions where the finished product looks how you imagined it or maybe even better than you thought! I was so happy with these once I had finished them :p.
I went with Gosh Highschool Flirt (swatches here) as a nice neutral base which could handle the colours of the various flowers.

I painted the flowers on and then I stuck the roses down with nail glue and then I did the leaves to make sure they looked right alongside the roses. I must admit that after my other rose nail art I felt pretty confident that I'd be able to just whack these out but I had to redo the first few that I did until I got back into the swing of it :p infact my left hand took about 2 hours whilst my right only took 55 minutes! And that's with mixing the colours and dropping the glued flowers onto my legs and fingers...bahahaha.

Hey this time I actually had real biscuits at hand ;)

I used a lot of polish for this mani, Flossgloss perf, kiko featured heavily for the green and darker purple, models own Lilac Dream, China Glaze ...Lifeguard for the leaves and then black and white by Barry m for mixing and highlights. I went over everything with seche Vite and nothing wanted to come off until I wanted them to, a few flowers refused to be removed so I was forced to piggle them off!
I loved wearing these, so pretty and cute too, received a few compliments on these, I do enjoy peoples faces when I tell them that I paint them myself hehehehe but who doesn't enjoy that :p.
That's what I like about doing roses; if you get them right then they look impressive, more impressive than they actually are (but shussssh don't tell the muggles that!) ;)

I hope you're all having a good week! See you soon

Nails Inc Fenchurch Street with a floral bouquet

Hey! Hope everyone's well :)
Today's post is another requested one, people wanted more swatches and more floral nail art so I have to obligue :).
I got Fenchurch Street in a three pack from TK Maxx a couple of weeks ago, I was drawn to it as it's such an unusual creamy colour. As per Nails Inc the formula was perfect, it was a one coater! But cos my canyons ain't goin' nowhere I did two coats. It dries real quick too, not matte/glitter quick but quicker than most cremes.
I've gone back to the old style of photos for this as I only had enough time to do the nail art on one hand! Sorrrry!
As you can see it's a gorgeous caramel colour, maybe a tad orangier than the photo shows, it's a tan colour like leather, either way it's yummy and very autumnal. Lavely.

The nail art was inspired by my pen lol! It looks like a bouquet to me, hence the title :P

I do like this but not enough to replicate it on my right hand, I think I need a new nail art pen as mine is very hard to get any polish out now :/. I don't think I should have done the big leaves in the darker green (China Glaze Westside Warrior) as it makes them look like acorn leaves :( boo.

OMG you guys!!! I caved and ordered from the AMAZING Illamasqua sale and got 6 polishes for under £40! Also one of them is actual Raindrops! They've re released it with the Broken Hearts collection! So excited to get it :D I won't tell you what else I get but you know I'll post pictures as soon as they arrive :D and you can tell me which you want to see :) weeehee.
It's my first crit of the year tomorrow, bit nervous, critques are always a bit scary hahah hopefully I get some good feedback :)

Until I see you again!

Floral print on the worst franken EVER

I just need to mention the removal of Zuza was baaad, I didn't use a basecoat for some unknown reason and so after I took it off I had zombie nails, not fun. Anyway for the design I had in mind I wanted a different nude than I had i my stash so I decided to mix my own. Bear in mind I only actually own two nudes both of which I've shown on here so I mixed both of those together with lots of white and I ended up with basically a slightly lighter version of Essie Sand Tropez with a touch of pink. For some reason I added some clear ? and oh man it became the worst thing to apply, I know how Frankenstein must have felt when he created his monster. I'm not sure if it was the extreme heat that made the formula so crap or just the clear but ugh it was like painting with glue! Hence the bad photo
It bubbled and lumped and was stringy and gloopy but I kind of like the colour but only for this design :P. The design is my interpretation of this tee shirt I have, I got it donkeys years ago from Topshop but I still love it. I thought it would make for pretty cool nails and I think I was right ;)

The little finger nail went wrong but I couldn't be bothered to re do it especially with that awful formula haha. By the middle finger I was really into the swing of the design. So that's why the better fingers are from the middle onwards, it always happens that way! I used my nail supreme pens in red, blue and pink, the black was done with my wah pen and the green is Barry M Spring Green applied with a dotting tool.

This design looks a lot better in real life, it's not quite translating onto pictures as well as I'd like, it looks okay in this one though ;) it's so hard to take photographs of your right hand using a camera that's made to be used with your right hand :P. The good thing about this design like so many that I do, it doesn't matter if you mess up a bit like I did as it's easy to cover and making the flowers was easy as it's block colour so you can expand the shape. I think I captured the spirit of the design ;) well without showing my bf the tee shirt that it was based of he said 'that looks like your tee shirt!' Not bad for a boy eh? ;) I wish I had a bit more order to the black lines but I guess that would defeat the point of the design, hahaha.
You might have noticed that my right thumb has a chunk of polish missing and that is because when I was cutting some cheese I slipped with the knife and sliced into my nail! I'm so lucky that my nails are really thick and that the knife only took the top few layers of my nail of otherwise it would have gone right through my thumb! I don't have much luck when it comes to sharp knives and cheese lol I sliced my finger open when trying to open a packet of cheese on my first day at uni, it was horrible lol sorry for that gory story :P.

Floral nail art

Hey, so yesterday I was going to post swatches of Dior Riviera but looking back over the photos, I realised I couldn't post them as Riviera looks nothing like what my pictures were showing :( so I'm showing you the nail art I did over it instead. I'll post Riviera once I get my camera back!
I have this top and it's really nice and summery so I thought it would make perfect nails....it did!

Right hand - sorry about the background...didn't have time to grab my backdrop
Left hand - natural light
I rather like it, they feel quite oriental for some reason, I like it because it's not your usual roses/daisies not that there's anything wrong with those but I felt like having something different :). In reality the base colour is a strong orange coral not pinky!
I created the flowers with a medium and smallest dotting tools I dotted a white circle then at the bottom of the circle I drew a curved line to make a bell shape. Then I added the dark grey and a lighter grey to act as shading. I used a dark green nail art pen to draw the stems, then I used Essie Navigate Her with the smallest dotting tool and went above the dark green lines to create light and shadow :P. That was the most time consuming point but after that it went really quickly. My left hand wasn't even shaking when I did my right hand!!
So that inspired me to practise writing with my left hand everyday until I become fully ambidextrous hahahah! Incase my right hand ever gets injured of course ;).

There you have it! I hope everyone has a good weekend :) my sister is running 3 miles for cancer research on sunday so that's where I'll be supporting her, she's doing it with college otherwise I would have joined her!

Kiko 332 Dark Violet

Another day, another Kiko polish, this time it's a cadbury purple that makes me hungry ha! Again another glowing review for this brand, another two coater that was as smooth as butttta :) now because it's purple, I obviously couldn't photograph it properly so I gave up and just did the nail art on top and then managed to take a colour accurate photograph ha typical.

This is too blue, stupid purple! But you get an idea :) I did diamonds and daisies as I think they are a good combination ;). Like edge and softness haha, I really like the diamonds I want to do a full diamond mani it'd look sick!

I'm moving out of the flat tomorrow and moving back home for the summer! I can't believe my first year of uni is over already, I've had such a good time and made really good friends, I'm looking forward to seeing my parents and sisss again but I'm definitely going to miss my little flat and just Ipswich in general, I guess it's only 3 months till I'll be back again :). So I won't be posting again until monday I imagine as I'll have lots of unpacking to do but I'll be reading and commenting on everyone's blogs still :).

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

L'oreal Perle de jade NOTD

Hi lovelies, tonight I have a newish (?) shade from L'oreal which is a brand I have never tried however Boots were having a 3 for 2 offer and the promo shots looked so good, I couldn't resist. Perle de Jade is a dusty jade and it is rather lovely. I used two coats and all of the pictures are shot in indirect sunlight. You might notice how small the L'oreal bottles are they are 5ml for £4.99! So expensive for so little!
I chose Prussian Blue by Max Factor to accent it with, for some reason I felt that they complimented each other well. Prussian Blue went on smoothly and was opaque in two swift coats, I must admit that I am starting to really love these little Max Factor bottles, the colours are really nice.
I had an idea in my head of how the flowers were going to look but I did them too big, they were meant to be dainty little flowers like a chain down the centre of my nail instead they were messy and big. I did do green vine things between them but they made it look even messier so I had to go back over them with Perle de Jade. Like I said I didn't like them when I did them last night but now a day on I like them a lot more. My plan for the accent nail was to do a leopard print but the black didn't show up very well so I left the darker nail on my other hand plain.
I didn't put a topcoat on as I knew I wouldn't keep it on for long and I'm not sure if this is the reason why but my nail varnish peeled today! I sat there and peeled it all off :P it did feel good I must admit.

Today I bought some glitter and I made my first franken! It was fun, I'm just gowing to show you a teaser now, I have it on atm, tomorrow I'll reveal it to you all! I need a name, I'm thinking tonight, hopefully I'll have one tomorrow for you :) I used my old Models Own 3in1 coat as I had hardly any left and it was glooping a bit, I thinkI might be hooked :P!

Seeyou tomorrow!!

Daisy Daisy give me your answer do

Hello again :)
I originally saw this design on Oooh Shinies' blog here and it is sooo cute! How could I not have a go myself, especially now I have dotting tools woo (best purchase ever!) here is my version :)

I used OPI Stranger Tides as the base and I dotted a white from a Sally H manicure set, I didn't know whether to leave it like that or not, I thought they looked like little flower beads that I used to buy as a kid to make bracelets from :P but I decided to make them into daises in the same way that Oooh Shinies did so here is the final mani

Man I love this so much :) The yellow I used was Revlon Sunshine Sparkle, these pictures are with a topcoat as well.
I'm so glad I found this design, it was really easy to do and looks so cute! It reminds me of a daisy chain (again making them when I was a kid :P) it is so perfect for spring especially over my new favourite green :). Even my bf said he thought my nails looked pretty, which he has never said! It's a nice change as the designs I normally do aren't delicate and feminine like this one.
You should really check out the original and her blog if you haven't already :).

I hope you like it and that it brightens your day like it has mine! If you have dotting tools you have to try this :)
See how many smiles I'm using heheh I'm just happy today.

Pancake day Floral nails

Good morning! Today is my favourite day, Pancake day!! Woop I'll be having mine later with lots of golden syrup, so fatty but sooo tasty ;). So the other day I finally bought some dotting tools and I love them! Why have I only just invested? I say invested I got a set of 5 for £1.99 off ebay :P.

I can't believe it but yesterday I removed saint George after having on for 24 hours...I don't know what's happening to me, I'm going to blame the stupid British weather because yesterday was so gloomy and St. G deserves sun it just looked so sad on my nails without the sparkle so I had to take it off. I put on a very grown up colour (I'm only 19...) Mushroom by Barry M which I'm meant to be wearing Wednesday to Thursday but I've moved it up obv.

It's a nice enough colour on its own, when applying it it looks just like melted milk chocolate! Yummmy.

It required 3 coats, nice application though, as usual with Barry M

But I'm not crazy about this colour, its just a bit bland and mature for me however it was the perfect base for me to try out my newly acquired dotting tools! Yay! I chose to do roses but they are more abstract flowers than roses per say. I like them alot I know this design has been done a trillion times, most likely better than mine but mine makes me happy :). I did yellow roses too because they are my favourite, they're so joyful.
This is my left hand

This is my right which went soo much better than my other hand, despite the fact that I am right handed, it always works out that way....weird

Sorry about the quality and dirt...taking a picture with your left hand is incredibly difficult :P

I used Barry M mushroom as the base
Sinful Colors Cabana as base of pink flowers
Essie Limited Addiction as shadow
Revlon Sunshine Sparkle (how cuuute) as yellow base
Models Own 25 carot gold as shadow
H&M Polish me happy as leaf base
Essie Going Incognito as shadow

Phew! Hope you like it and have a good pancake day!!
