Nails Inc Pudding Lane Swatches

Hi, I couldn't wait till tomorrow to show you this, it's too good! I'm so glad I put this on first......
Two coats, with no topcoat
Two coats, no topcoat and flash
Two coats, topcoat, natural light
Isn't it gorgeous! I love everything about it, the gold and navy glitter, the teal base, how easy the glitter disperses. Honestly I just love it! Such a good purchase :). It's so pretty and the name is cute, I know pudding lane is a real place but it's so fitting hehe. I can imagine wearing this a lot, I'm not even sure when I'll take it off! If you can get hold of these I urge you too. They are completely opaque after two coats and dry semi matte and obviously it eats topcoat but it's still pretty when semi matte.
Also I bought my first bottle of Seche Vite today and I am amazed, I now understand why everyone loves it, it dries so quickly lol :P

What do you think?

Nail art: Gradient and Union Jacks

This is a post about two pieces of nail art that I have done over the past three days. That's the good thing about coming home, I get to do my sister and my mum's (rarely!) nails :). For my sister I gave her a purple and pink gradient, of course it had to be pink :P it does look good though....and then leopard print over the top :) I really love this especially on her short nails so if you have shorter nails you should totally try this!
Action shot ;)

The pink is Rimmel Pro Urban Princess (?) and the purple is Rimmel Pro Ultra Violet, I'm glad she chose these two actually they merge real nice and go with her tan ;). I used the same method as last time for the gradient.
My mum works at a primary school and today they are having Jubilee day as obviously the real Jubilee day is a bank holiday, so they're having a "street party" on the playground with a bbq and fun stuff. So she wanted me to give her Union Jack nails, so that's what I spent my night doing :P and here they are
mum's nails

Hehe :) the base colour of these is Order of the Garter from a-england, the white and red are just stripers. Mum's nails are a nice size for these, she has wider nails than me so the flags could be quite even :) she loved them, she keeps waving them at people in the street :| LOL!

Hope you've enjoyed these nails that aren't mine :) I'll be back later with a Nails Inc sprinkleeeee! Woo

Nails Inc Sprinkles!

The postman brings the best things ;) I got my Sprinkles woo. I only ordered two as I don't need all four, that's called control people hehe :P. Anyway I got Sweets Way and Pudding Lane and I'm passing the choice of which to wear first to you, my lovely readers :).
Sweets Way - milky base with blue, salmon and silver glitter

Pudding Lane - teal base with navy and gold glitter.

Which are you dying to see?! The one with the most comments is the one I shall put on tomorrow :) woo

Graphic Lines nail art

Hi, I feel like I haven't blogged in ages and that's because I, like many others around the world have been making the most of this glorious weather! But I promise I am back now, I have a couple more posts lined up after this so that should tide me over until I change my nails :).

You know how the best designs are the ones you didn't want to create initially? Well that is what happened today. I set myself an ambitious 5 different pattern design but it went completely wrong and then I got a new idea from the wreckage and I love it! I love instagram as there are so great nail artists showcased on there and my absolute favourite is astrowifey (type that into instagram to find her) she does amazing work and I urge you to check her out if you want to see some serious mini artworks! Anyway this mani is inspired by her :)

As usual I freehanded the lines with my nail art pen (you can probably tell on my pinkie!). The pink is one of the unknown color clubs, green is Kiko 345 Jade Green and yellow is Unicorn by Sinful Colors (from the wonderful Katee) I really like this yellow it's nice and soft and only takes two coats to reach opacity :). All three colours took two coats for opacity.
Like I said earlier I really like these designs, they're quite simple and it's something different for me too and I think they look good ;). My favourites are the middle and index fingers.

I should be getting some nail mail tomorrow :D only small but good!

Seeyou all tomorrow!

Paul & Joe 016 Mediterranean Swatches

Hi, long time no see! I've been busy putting all my possessions away at home and then I spent the day putting old clothes and shoes and my camera on ebay, it took soooo long *phew* glad it's done now though.
I know I talk quite a bit about the weather on this blog it's cos I'm British ;) but omg it was so hot! Tuesday was amazing, I sat on my dads backgarden with a mini cheesecake and my kindle after I'd finished doing my nails, it was bliss! Anyway the point of this is that I wanted glitter because of the sun! So I finally used my ebay bargain of Paul & Joe.

I'd looked up swatches of this polish and found hardly any and those I did find looked different to how it looks on my nails so hopefully if anyone comes across this polish in real life my swatches will convince them to get it!! This polish came out last summer and I haven't seen it anywhere so I'm sorry for showing you a rare ish (?) polish but it's too gorgeous to not show you!

My first macro shot ;) how creepy is my skin! LOL!

How gorgeous?! This is three coats which is where I think it looks the best, the other swatches I've seen show one or two coats which I find strange. Here goes my best try at describing this polish, prepare yourselves ;) it's a bluey green jelly with large circular duochrome "sequins" (blue to purple) and fine duochrome glitter (green to blue) with the occasional copper fine glitter with a very fine blue to purple microshimmer thoughout the green base. AKA gorgeousness in a bottle!
I found a comparison between this and Deborah Lippmman's Across the Universe but like I said they only used two coats so it did look very different but I'm not sure how similar they would be at three coats, I think ATU has different shaped glitter etc.

I love this so much, it's so pretty and I'm glad I stumbled across it :) I know a lot of people in this world dislike ebay (evilbay) but I personally love it, I always find a bargain like this polish, RRP £10.50....I got it for £3! Oh yeah ;).

Asos had a 20% off sale so I got one of the new Paul & Joe polishes from their Midsummer Night's Dream collection, I'm sorry but don't you just love this brand! I got Sprite which should be arriving this week yay :)

Wow this was a long one, making up for lost time ;)

Models Own Coral Reef Swatches

Morning!
I bought this polish years ago to wear to my year 13 prom and hated it, I thought it was garish and bright :P how things change haha. I'm glad I kept it cos now I can appreciate how nice it is :). Coral Reef is a creamy bright orangey pink that leans more orange inside and pink outside. It's a really nice summery colour that was opaque in two coats and was smooth as expected from Models Own! Last night I cut my nails I thought I'd done them a bit too short but I haven't you can't really tell the difference in the photos ha!

These are taken without topcoat, it's nice and shiny on its own but srsly my ridges are redonk I really need a good ridge filler! I'm trying Save the Nail Bridge the Ridge which doesn't work at all but I like it cos it dries fast and is a nice milky pink, I think for it to work I'd have to use about three coats which is pointless!
Anywho ignoring my horrid canyons isn't the colour lavely! It is a lot brighter than these photos show, it's not quite neon but it is bright :) I really like it, it clashes against my pale hands and makes them seem even whiter which I like :P also it's sunny today woooo! So I feel happy today, I have the whole of summer to enjoy :).

What do you think to this colour?

Did my sister's nails mix up style

I know I said I wouldn't be posting till monday but as soon as I got home my sis was like Abbbieeee can you do my nails! So obviously I said yes, she also went a bit crazy at my collection picking all the glitters out and covering her nails lol it made me feel a little less crazy ;). She's 17 btw hahah anyway we spent about half an hour planning, she couldn't decide what to have but she eventually chose 10 different designs and then we picked out the colours and what order to do them in. Painting them didn't take that long only about an hour and a half due to her laughing her head off :P.
Her nails look pretty cute if I say so myself

She loved that glitter, she's totally amazed by it lol so thanks Katee! Obviously I used too many polishes to list but if there is a specific colour that you'd like to know I can tell you :) As usual I freehanded it all with my new favourite pens :) it was fun.

I am not looking forward to unpacking, I think my mum nearly cried when she saw how much stuff I bought back, it stressed her out big time but I'll put it all away nicely for her :). Right I definitely will be seeing you on monday! Have a good weekend

Kiko 332 Dark Violet

Another day, another Kiko polish, this time it's a cadbury purple that makes me hungry ha! Again another glowing review for this brand, another two coater that was as smooth as butttta :) now because it's purple, I obviously couldn't photograph it properly so I gave up and just did the nail art on top and then managed to take a colour accurate photograph ha typical.

This is too blue, stupid purple! But you get an idea :) I did diamonds and daisies as I think they are a good combination ;). Like edge and softness haha, I really like the diamonds I want to do a full diamond mani it'd look sick!

I'm moving out of the flat tomorrow and moving back home for the summer! I can't believe my first year of uni is over already, I've had such a good time and made really good friends, I'm looking forward to seeing my parents and sisss again but I'm definitely going to miss my little flat and just Ipswich in general, I guess it's only 3 months till I'll be back again :). So I won't be posting again until monday I imagine as I'll have lots of unpacking to do but I'll be reading and commenting on everyone's blogs still :).

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Gradient with Kiko

I've sooo jumped on the awesome gradient bandwagon! How could I not, they just look so cool! I chose a pastel-ish gradient, originally I was just going to have one colour nails but then I got bored , how often does that happen eh? :P. First I had Kiko 345 Jade Green on, which applied so smooth and was opaque in two coats, such good quality for the price!
Gorgeous colour right?

I sponged Kiko 338 Light Lavender using the polish on the sponge method that we all know and love thanks to this tutorial :) it was super easy to do and looks really good IRL however it doesn't really translate to film, I'm not sure why but here are the pictures

I used a makeup sponge so the transition was very smooth however I think I overdid it with the sponge as I kept pulling polish up to form little horrible lumps :( lol I'm surprised I didn't remove it as it's so lumpy at the tips. So next time I will slow down with the sponging, I think it's cos I didn't have enough polish on the sponge so I will definitely try again :).

What do you think to my gradient?

Going Bananas with Kiko!

Hey, I removed my paisley yesterday as I had a bit of growth at the base and that was it, no tipwear and no chips! Awesome lol. My bf has been asking me to do banana nails for a few weeks now so I obliged last night.I should know by now that painting nails at night is not a good idea, it always goes wrong! And it certainly did :( painting was fine, here's Kiko Canary Yellow, 2 coats.
It's rather bright, not a neon but certainly bright! I liked it so then the bad stuff happened....I originally did bananas from the base of my nail but then I tried with some on the tip and prefered it that way so cos it was late and I was feeling lazy I just removed the black and then did a quick coat of yellow over the half removed bananas, so basically my nails felt lumpy and you could see some black still under the yellow :( well here are the finished nanaaarrrs ;)

Not that bad I guess but not what I hoped for either, bananas are weirdly difficult to draw lol.

Ooh I got a bargain today, everytime I go into Debenhams (which is a lot) I always pick up the same things and put them down again, and one of those was Dosh from Butter London, I was drawn to the green despite my bad previous experience with the brand but I could never justify the £12 price. Today I went in and Dosh was half price! It was the only one that had money off!! Can you believe it? :D what luck hehe

I hope you enjoyed my bananas :)

Dior Lucky swatches + Paisley Nail art

I think I managed to get a kind of colour accurate photo of Lucky at last, it's a really unique and beautiful colour, it's really bright and happy, perfect for summer! Even better is the fact that it cost me £3 hahaha

Lucky is from the summer colour blocking collection and it's a very pink red, it changes but it's so beautiful.
It was opaque in two superrrr smooth coats and it dried rather quick, it is a creme but it has the Dior secret sparse silver shimmer (oh yeah for alliteration ;)). The brush shape makes it really easy to apply as does the perfect formula. I'd have been happy to pay full price for this to be honest.
I ordered a set of 10 Nail Supreme nail art pens and they arrived today, super quick shipping btw, I have always wanted to do Paisley print nails but my old Wahnails pens are too unreliable and prone to blobbing everywhere so I thought I'd try a different brand. You get 8 cremes and two glitters and from what I have tried so far they seem to be good quality.

Originally I wanted to use the yellow or blue but they weren't showing up very well so I went with white. Once I figured out the best way to hold and squeeze the pens, making the design was a breeze, et voila!
As you may be able to see I smudged my little finger nail with the top coat so after that I dotted the top coat on :P. I love this! I think I did a good job, if I say so myself, I can't imagine getting rid of this anytime soon, I'm proud lol! I think I'm going to love those new pens too, they cost £19.99  for the set of 10 so not bad really.

What do you think of my creation?

China Glaze Fast Track & Nail art

The other day I wanted a cleanser so I chose Fast track which Katee sent me :) I know everyone has seen this before so I'll keep this bit short and sweet, promise ;). On me it was very browny beige because I am so pale, it took me about a day to like it :P I loved the shimmer though, so nice
It was opaque in two smooth coats and it dried fairly quickly, this is with a topcoat and natural light.
Cos it is a nice neutral I wanted to embelish it slightly so I chose the only thing anyone would ever choose....moustichios of course!
I like them, they're cute and everyone at uni loves them ha! They make my fingers feel clever ;) and they were so easy to do, just two dotting tools, you make four dots and two connecting lines and you're away! My favourite kind of nail art is the simple kind, you want to enjoy doing your nails not get stressed out and these were perfectly relaxing :).

At the moment I'm trying to capture the beauty of Dior Lucky but I'm failing hopefully I'll have a decent photo for tomorrow. I sent Candy shop to my sister yesterday and she text me today saying her trademark phrase of 'I love it' so she's happy with it, she sent me a picture of her nails, she used it on her artificial tips but I think it would look really cute on her full natural nails as she has shorties.

Hope you enjoyed!

Red comparison post

Hey, today I decided to something I've never done; a comparison post (obviously....) I chose reds as in the bottle they can look quite similar and to try and help people who are on their search for their perfect red!

I only have a few reds in my collection so I chose a variety dark to light
All five in natural light, I thought it'd be nice for you to see how they look against my skin tone

Funnily enough I didn't realise I had achieved a perfect ombre mani ;)

Kiko Dark Crimson, Barry M Raspberry, Essie Limited Addiction, Orly Ma Cherie and Barry M Bright Red.
The first two (Kiko and Barry M) are cremes whilst the other three are more sheer and jelly ish.
All 5 only took 2 coats to opacity and all were lovely to apply, my first Orly was a dream, my bf liked that one the best he said it was the most sluttiest....LOL but by that he means it's a classic red that is unfortunately associated with naughty ladies ;) but that means it's sexy! Waaa ha :). Anywaaaay, I did like all of them and I always find it interesting how polishes change colour when next to other colours, I always thought that Limited Addiction was a bright red until I put Orly next to it.
I tried to mix polishes that are easy to acquire in both continents, I think that Bright Red and Ma Cherie are pretty close, I prefer the Orly though.
I hope you found this helpful and if not then I'm sorry ;)
Which is your favourite? A classic red or a deeper classy red?

Nail Mail x3!

Hey today was my final critque of this year and it went really well :) my tutors really liked my photographs so I'm happy and to top it all off I had 3 packages waiting for me when I got back to halls wooo!

First up is my precious Dior Waterlily from ebay....it didn't come in its box though :( that made me really sad lol

Second is my swap with the lovely Anna! Look how amazingly she wrapped everything! Gah so much effort :)
 Love this paper so much!

Back row, L-R: Sinful Colors Hazard, China Glaze Riveting, Zoya Gemma & Danii, Claire's Candy Shop
Front Row, L-R: Orly Oui, Ma Cherie, Androgynie
I can't believe I got Gemma! It's like she read my mind :D and Danni looks amaze too, I just love Zoya!

Finally I received my order from Kiko cosmetics
Back Row L-R: 254 Wine Red Microglitter, 364 Dark Crimson, 358 Peach Rose, 356 Melon, 355 Canary Yellow.
Front Row, L-R: 345 Jade Green, 346 Olive Drab, 338 Light Lavander, 332 Dark Violet, 202 Violet Transparent
These were £2.50 each and you have to spend £25 minimum to order so these were bargains! I have quickly dabbed these onto paper and they all appear to be heavily pigmented and have a big brush which I was not expecting for the price! I can't wait to swatch them and then wear them as full manis, I have a few ideas in mind :) I think Melon looks great for summer!

all of the above = awesome Nail Mail!!

Thanks again Anna your package was soooo good! I can't wait to swap with you again :D I have saved that lovely paper, it's currently on my inspiration board :)

What do you guys think to these polishes? Which are you looking forward to seeing?

Giveaway winner & Continued mani!

My giveaway has now ended and the winner is:

Ariana Cheng!
I have emailed her and she has 24 hours to reply otherwise a new winner will be announced

I layered Cinderella over Bluebell this morning and here are the results:

Because Cinderella has a milky blue base it tainted Bluebell slightly but you could still see the original colour underneath. The shimmery flakies in Cinders looked really light and pretty over the top of Bluebell, definitely nice and springy. The only problem I had with it was the fact that it ended up looking really thick on my nails and I really can't stand that, you know what I mean when the gap between the polish and your cuticle isn't very big and it makes it look like you have a mountain of polish on, cos it's like shadowy in the gap....I know what I mean ;).

Hopefully tomorrow I'll have a tasty haul post for y'all :D

Nails Inc Instyle Bluebell Swatches

Today I have a pretty mani for you, featuring the free nails inc polish Bluebell, I haven't seen too many swatches around so I figured I'd wear it now for people to see how nice it is ;). I did an accent finger with Sinful Colors Cinderella which I got in my swap with Katee, I think they go together real nice. I'm going to layer cinderella over the top of Bluebell tomorrow :)
I think this photo above is colour accurate, it is a very purpley blue.

This was amazing it was opaque in one coat! I did two to cover up my ridges, it was so smooth to apply and dried fairly quickly. I used three coats of Cinderella, it's so beautiful I know it's been featured on everyone's blog and I now why, I can't wait to wear it as a full mani. I can't decide whether Bluebell is blue or purple, it changes in different lights, now in my low light it looks very lilac but earlier in the day it looks very cornflower blue. Either way it's so nice and definitely worth £3.80 so if you have access to Instyle magazine I recommend you get it for this polish!
I've trimmed my nails down again, even though you probably can't tell but they are at the perfect length for me I can't wait to wear Lucky and Waterlily when it gets here and my other swap package and my Kiko order lol a lot of things :P

How'd you like this?

Nail art tutorial: Pandas!

So for my first nail art tutorial I decided to do something that was easy and supa kute! ;) what is cuter than pandas right?

For this all you need is a white polish, three different sized dotting tools and black polish like so:
One tip I have is:  I found it was better to have a deep blob of polish that you are dipping into as this means that you will have excess polish on the dotting tool which means you can move the polish around and create bigger circles or straighten edges.  Also make sure you put a base coat on first :).

Here are the simple four steps to pandas:

1. Using the brush that comes with the white polish, start half way up the nail and do one stroke down to the tip and then starting from the same place as before curve the brush round and down and both sides to create the curved top. Don't worry if you can't make it as curved the ears help cover it up anyway :).

2. Taking the largest dotting tool (or suitable substitute) dip it into the black polish that you have put onto paper/empty lid etc, and put one dot on the side of the curve near the skin as you can see on my ring finger. Then you may need to place another large dot to make the ear as big and cute as possible. I liked to have straightened edges at the bases of the ears as I think they look cuter than just circles. Repeat on the other side. Using the ears as guides, place two big circles just under the ears. Then with a smaller dotting tool make a smaller dot joined next to the big eye dot, and join the circles with more polish. Repeat on other eye.

3. Once the black has completely dried, dip your medium sized dotting tool into the white polish and carefully dot the white in the middle of the big black circle only. It's this ring arond the eyes that make them cute!

4. To finish get the smallest dotting tool and dot on two tiny black dots for eyes and then dot inbetween the eyes at the tip of your nail for a little nose. Once completely dry then you can add a top coat over your whole nail. Et voila you now have 5 cute pandas!

Of course if you have a nail art pen, the ears are easier to do but the dotting method definitely works best for the eyes as it help creates the perfect circle for eye patches.

Here's what my whole hand looks like
:D!

Here's me creating the curves on my other hand, it's easy once you get into it :)

I hope this was clear and helpful, let me know if you are going to try this out, I'd love to see other pandas! Eee so cute :)
